The Certificate IV in Primary Health and Community Care (Multicultural) is the first ever nationally accredited course for health workers in the multicultural sector. The course aims to build health workforce capacity for culturally competent health service delivery and increase employment opportunities for individuals from culturally and diverse backgrounds.
The aim of the course is to develop and recognise the range of generalist skills required by health workers in multicultural communities and organisations. These skills include the delivery, maintenance and promotion of health care as well as the provision of quality preventative health care in CALD communities.
The course prepares participants for practice in a range of roles including working with individuals, families, groups and communities and in education, advocacy, research, monitoring and evaluation, planning and development.
The course delivery method is highly flexible mix of face to face and online learning units. Course participants have the opportunity to study online in their own time and also engage with industry leaders and professionals in face to face units delivered in Brisbane.
