The ECCQ Board of Directors appointed Ms Louise Moeller at the November 14 2018 Board meeting to serve as a Director for a one-year period.
Ms Moeller was born in Australia but spent the majority of her adult working life in Europe, predominantly Germany. Returning to Brisbane in 2004 with her husband and children, she quickly became involved in the German community and is currently President of the German-Australian Community Centre Qld.
Backed by her mathematics and statistics degree, with years of experience working in IT and international corporate communications in Germany, she co-founded what became Australia’s largest German Festival, Oktoberfest Brisbane, in 2008. Louise and her husband sold this successful business in 2016 to start new business ventures.
Ms Moeller is a passionate and active supporter of multiculturalism, having developed close relationships with many multicultural communities, as well as membership of various organisations. She is proud to be an inaugural Multicultural Queensland Ambassador, inducted in 2017 by the Queensland State Government.
Ms Moeller believes that active cross-cultural sharing and understanding at all levels is key to breaking down multicultural barriers.
“I feel very honoured to take up this position on the ECCQ Board, especially being able to represent multicultural women,” she said.
ECCQ Chairperson Alton Budd says Ms Moeller will add years of multicultural experience and valuable expertise to the Board.
“On behalf of the Board, I welcome Louise and look forward to working together to contribute to the growth of ECCQ and the continued growth of multiculturalism in Queensland.”
