Directors recommend appointment of Honorary President and Life Member, Serge Voloschenko OAM.
The Directors of ECCQ have unanimously nominated Serge Voloschenko for the position of honorary president and also life membership. This nomination now needs to be put to Members at ECCQ’s Annual General Meeting on 19 October for a vote.
Serge has spent more than 40 years contributing to the multicultural sector in Queensland and was one of the founding members of ECCQ. Serge has significant experience in a wide range of areas including policy development, aged care and health.
Serge has served ECCQ in a range of capacities over the last 40 years, including 14 years as Chairperson.
Serge has championed the benefits of multiculturalism since the 1970s, first with the Russian Community Centre and then later serving on the Board of Directors of the Russian Benevolent Association, which set up Pine Lodge Home, a residential aged care facility for the Russian speaking community.
It was this experience in aged care that led to Serge advocating for culturally inclusive aged care services for all people from CALD backgrounds.
ECCQ encourages you to come to our AGM and support this important nomination.
