The new website www.agedcareguide.com.au has a wider view and the ability to feature residential or community care, products or services on the home page. All website profiles have multiple pages including site, features, vacancies with other pages coming soon such as employment and virtual tours.
Australian Tax Office FAQ sheet on tax concessions for nonprofit organisations
The Australian Taxation Organisation (ATO) has a new FAQ for tax concessions for not for profit organisations on their website. The document provides answers to frequently asked questions about tax concession charities, including endorsement requirements, types of tax concessions available and how to check if an organisation is a tax concession charity. It also outlines common errors made when completing the tax concession charity application form and reasons why the ATO might reject applications.
Community Door news: Fundraising fact sheets

A new resource entitled “Guide for Community Board Members: Understanding Finances”. This guide is the second in a series offered to community groups free of charge, and follows the popular “Guide for Community Treasurers”,
which was launched in 2008 and revised late last year. The book
contains the vital information that board members need to know in order
to completely understand the financial reports
presented to them by their Treasurers. It explains balance sheets,
income and expenditure statements, cash flow statements, accounting
methods, planning and troubleshooting. To access the guides please

Multicultural Affairs Queensland have released the 2009 Multicultural Resource Directory
which details relevant contact information for a range of organisations
including government and non-government services, ethnic and
multicultural organisations, multicultural media, and schools.
Resources to assist you to find health and community services
These are publicly available resources to assist you in finding health and community services in a particular location. QFinder includes an extensive range of services offered by public as well as private and non-government providers. QFinder is used as a resource within 13HEALTH to direct callers to services in their local area. Infoxchange’s service seeker is an extensive directory of community support services providing access to health, welfare and community service records in Australia. You can search by service, suburb/ town or postcode. The Lifeline National Service Finder lists details of community services and service providers around the country. You can search the database using keywords for the type of service and location required or via postcode.

Council
of Small Business of Australia (COSBOA) promote services providing
support for small business owners who do not speak English as a first
language. The new Fair Work for Small Business website www.fairworkforsmallbusiness.com.au a critical resource providing information to small business owners who regularly speak languages other than English. It has translated videos available online in other languages, that people can access any time
Taking the Initiative website – Police working with Australia’s diverse communities
The Taking the Initiative website has been designed for police around Australia, to help them get to know what other jurisdictions are doing to improve their relationships with Australia's new arrivals. It is also a useful resource for settlement service providers and others interested in learning about the work being undertaken by police, including how it is planned and implemented. It contains useful links to important resources for police, including the Department of Immigration and Citizenship profiles of new communities such as Sudanese, Congolese, Karen and Chin Burmese. The website also includes a small number of profiles of individuals who, in their roles as liaison officers, have been integral in championing these types of initiatives.

Women’s Shelters: Multilingual brochures
The Combined Women’s Refuge Group (CWRG) has launched a brochure entitled “Women’s Shelters: Providing Safe and Supported Short-term Crisis Accommodation” aimed at women escaping domestic and family violence who are considering entering a women’s shelter. The resource is available in 12 community languages: Arabic (Sudanese), Chinese, Farsi, French, Hindi, Japanese, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Tigrinya, Turkish and Vietnamese.
