HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis & Sexual Health Program

ECCQ’s HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and Sexual Health programs seek to actively educate and inform people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds on HIV, hepatitis, and sexually transmissible infections (STIs), and to increase CALD people's access to relevant health services.

The program is funded by Queensland Health. The Sexual Health component started in the 1980s, followed by the HIV/AIDS program in 1992, and the Hepatitis program in 2000.

The program ensures that CALD people are not disadvantaged in accessing health information and services, and that the promotion of wellbeing is appropriate for the needs of people from CALD backgrounds.
