As you may be aware, Garry Page has resigned from the CEO position of ECCQ, effective 11 January 2019. On behalf of the Board, I acknowledge his hard work, dedication and accomplishments. We wish him well in his new career endeavour.
I have been Acting CEO in the short period since the handover to ensure a smooth transition with all partners and staff of ECCQ. The Board has an expectation that ECCQ continues its growth as the peak advocacy body for Queensland’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and to the growth of our aged care service arms, Diversicare and Berlasco Court.
I am please to announce the appointment of Patricia Golledge, the Executive Manager of Diversicare, as Acting CEO on a part-time and short-term basis during the transition period from 21 January 2019 until ECCQ appoints a new CEO. I will, as Chairperson, assist Patricia and manage some of the corporate business that is ongoing.
Patricia has over 30 years of experience working in the aged, disability, residential and community care sectors, including working closely with a variety of communities. Over her career she has held a range of leadership roles managing multidisciplinary teams. She has extensive knowledge and experience in dementia care and providing service delivery for people from CALD backgrounds. Patricia has qualifications in allied health, rehabilitation, occupational health and safety, aged care, management and education and training.
The Board will announce the appointment of a new CEO following the application process.
Many thanks for your support and we look forward to furthering ECCQ’s vision that everyone, no matter their background, should be able to contribute to and participate in all aspects of society.
