Berlasco Court, the residential aged care division of ECCQ, was featured in The Sunday Mail yesterday (Agenda section pp33-35), written by the brilliant Leanne Edmistone. The article includes incredible stories from some of our residents: Theo, Queensland’s first celebrity hairdresser from Greece; Wilhelm “Bill”, who came to Australia from Germany after seeing a newspaper advert; Mohamud, a businessman from Somalia, who’s fluent in 9 languages and Pauline, whose uncle was the only medical officer to win the Distinguished Service Order at ANZAC Cove. We couldn’t be more proud to see their stories in print!
Berlasco Court is the only recognised service in the state to focus on cultural inclusiveness alongside excellence in care. Our staff speak 56 languages and our current residents are from 22 different cultural backgrounds. Read the article here.
