ECCQ has been funded by the Department of Social Services under the Settlement Grants Program to run the Community Leadership Program. We are now accepting participants from new and emerging communities for our next 8-week leadership course starting 10 January. (more…)
1 December 2014: At last Saturday’s graduation ceremony for ECCQ’s Community Leadership Programs, Sharon Orapeleng, former President of the Queensland African Communities Council (QACC), told the group of aspiring leaders that to be an inclusive leader you have to represent your community in all its diversity. Two groups of new community leaders came together for the graduation, including a women’s only group. The leaders are all from new and emerging communities including Somalia, Afghanistan, Iran, South Sudan, Iraq and Sri Lanka. (more…)
